5 Creative Ways God Will Pull You Into Your Purpose

Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things…..

Praying, reading your Bible, trying to “be better”—and yet, your purpose still feels out of reach?

You’re not alone. Many women experience seasons of waiting, doubt, and even frustration when it comes to walking fully in their God-given gifts and calling.

The truth is: God is always working, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

And sometimes, the ways He pulls you into purpose are creative, unexpected, and even a little uncomfortable.

Here are some ways God might be inviting you to step into your purpose—and how you can recognize and respond to them.

1. Through Healing and Restoration

Before you can fully walk in your Kingdom purpose, God often needs to address what’s been holding you back. That doesn’t just mean surface-level “fixes.” He’s interested in deep restoration—healing the places where shame, rejection, insecurity, or past trauma have shaped how you see yourself.

Healing might feel slow. You might feel like you’re taking two steps forward and one step back. That’s okay. God works progressively, just like He did with the man in Matthew who Jesus healed of blindness. At first, he saw “people looking like trees walking around.” Only after a second touch did he see clearly.

Your healing is preparing you for your purpose. It’s God reshaping your heart, your mind, and your identity so that you can step into your calling with confidence, clarity, and courage.

2. Through Community

Purpose rarely unfolds in isolation. God often uses other people to confirm, challenge, and encourage you along the way. This can show up as:

Mentors and guides who speak truth over your life

Sisters in faith who pray for you, cheer for you, and hold space for your process

Opportunities to serve that connect you with people who need your gifts

Sometimes the creative way God pulls you into purpose is simply by placing you in the right room with the right people at the right time. The lesson? Stay connected, stay open, and don’t underestimate the power of community in your purpose journey.

3. Through Unexpected Assignments

God often nudges us into purpose through assignments that don’t look like our “plan.” Maybe it’s:

• Volunteering for a ministry you hadn’t considered

• Speaking into a friend’s situation or workplace

• Starting a blog, a business, or a podcast that feels too big for you

These “unexpected assignments” are God’s way of stretching your faith and uncovering your gifts. What seems inconvenient or out of reach may actually be the very thing that aligns you with your Kingdom calling.

4. Through Creative Expression

Did you know that God can pull you into purpose through your creativity? He often restores vision, joy, and confidence through the ways He uniquely gifted you:

• Writing, blogging, or journaling your experiences

• Speaking, teaching, or mentoring other women

• Music, art, or dance as an expression of worship and storytelling

When you engage your creativity in alignment with God’s heart, He uses it to illuminate your gifts and bring clarity to your calling. What feels like a hobby or a pastime could actually be your purpose coming to life.

5. Through Pain and Challenge

It’s tempting to wish for an easy path to purpose—but God often uses hardship as a teacher. Pain, disappointment, and setbacks are not signs of failure; they are training grounds for Kingdom impact.

Your trials may:

• Sharpen your discernment

• Build empathy for others

• Reveal strengths you didn’t know you had

When you lean into God in the middle of challenges, you discover that purpose is not just about “doing” but about becoming—becoming the woman God created you to be, fully equipped to impact others.

Your Purpose Is Already Waiting

The creative ways God pulls you into purpose are endless—but the first step is always the same: say yes to Him, open your heart, and step into the opportunities He places before you.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Sometimes, walking into purpose requires guidance, support, and someone to help you see the gifts you’ve been overlooking.
